Shipbuilding

Treo has many years of experience as a service provider in the areas of shipbuilding and maritime facilities. We work closely together with the classification societies in order to guarantee our customers the maximum degree of service and safety. Among our customers are shipyards as well as component and system suppliers.

The services by Treo are internationally accepted. In the scope accredited by the DAkkS, all tests required for the type approval of electrical equipment are included. This also applies to shipbuilding-specific procedures such as dynamic inclination (swell) or compass protection distance. That means that complete tests for type approval can be carried out by the various classification societies in their own laboratories from a single source.

Both laboratories were DNV GL certified until DNV GL stopped the certification process of laboratories (october 2020). Of course Treo still has the same competence and therefore Treo's tests are fully recognized by DNV GL and the other classification societies.

Additionally the company is approved by the U.S. Coast Guard for environmental simulation tests of equipment for the prevention of oil pollution in the bilge water. This includes for example 15 ppm bilge separators and bilge alarm systems as well as oil concentration measuring systems in the bilge water area.

Test standards include:

  • DIN EN 60945
  • IACS E10 Test Specification for Type Approval
  • IEC 60092-504

E-bikes, pedelecs & bicycles

E-bikes, pedelecs and bicycles

With more and more cyclists switching to electrically assisted bikes, this is the perfect time for us to position ourselves in the bicycle industry as a test laboratory with a unique selling point – and provide development support for manufacturers of bicycles and components.

For example, for a well-known manufacturer of drive units for e-bikes we developed a test programm to pinpoint the weak points in their bicycle designs. Unlike conventional cycle test laboratories, we use real-life simulations.
