Treo - Shipbuilding

Treo has many years of experience as a service provider in the marine and shipping industry. We work closely together with the shipbuilding-classification societies in order to garantuee our customers a maximum degree of service and safety. Amongst our customers are shipyards as well as component and system suppliers.

The services by Treo are accepted at international level. The company is an approved sub-test laboratory by the U.S. Coast Guard  for environmental simulation tests of equipment for the prevention of water pollution. This includes e.g. 15 ppm bilge separators as well as oil concentration measuring systems in the bilge water area. Besides, both laboratories are DNV GL "Approved Testing Laboratories". Treo received the certificate for testing according to "Guidelines for the Performance of Type Approvals, Vl-7-2" and "Class Guidelines, CG-0339" as well as for IP-protection testing. The certification also covers shipbuilding-specific tests like inclined position, overpressure and insulation resistance.

We offer you the following services:

As a test laboratory accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, Treo tests according to industry-specific norms and individual customer requirements in the field of environmental simulation and EMC. In this combination Treo has unique testing  competencies, which are being placed at the disposal of the customers for tests accompanying the product development process, customized tests and complete tests for type approval of the equipment.

Environmental simulation

The environmental simulation laboratory in Hamburg with its specialized equipment enables a broad range of simple, complex and combined test setups  and procedures tailored to customer requirements, like vibration, shock, climate, temperature, under-/overpressure, corrosion/salt spray, water and dust testing. For this we have testing equipment which is especially adjusted for shipbuilding applications, like a goniometer for inclination tests or a programmable voltage source for "extreme power supply" for  tests according to BSH standards. With our corrosion test chambers we are able to carry out for you neutral salt spray tests with NaCl (e.g. DIN EN ISO 9227 NSS testing) as well as acetic acid salt spray tests (AASS testing) and copper accelerated acetic acid salt spray tests (CASS testing). A variation of the test salt is also possible which enables us to carry out special requirements like tests according to Lloyd´s Register or Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

The EMC test laboratory in Kiel provides a broad spectrum of EMC-relevant tests and measurements and has profound experience in the field of shipbuilding applications.
Comprehensive test equipment and a large workspace offer highly flexible test options. Radiated susceptibility tests up to 18 GHz can be performed. With the recently introduced EMI measuring system TDEMI X by Gauss Instruments, we are able to accomplish emission tests from 10 Hz to 40 GHz. As the first service provider for testing solutions we use therewith the fastest system in the market. In this way, we reduce the testing time to a fraction and save our clients valuable time.

Individual services – flexible according to your demands

For each challenge Treo develops jointly with you the optimal testing procedure. If required, we design individual testing setups for you, carry out further testing methods or support you in case of external tests. In doing so, we garantuee a continuous analysis and evaluation of all tests throughout the entire testing period.
