Insulation resistance test

Climatic impacts can change the electrical properties of components, which may even lead to failure of the device or put people at risk.

To evaluate this impact, insulation resistance tests are used, in which the insulation resistances against voltage-free metal parts of live conductors or parts are measured and compared before and after climatic tests.

The standards and procedures in this area include the following:

  • IACS E10 Test No. 9 Insulation resistance
  • DIN EN 50155 Section 12.2.9.1 Insulation measurement
  • DNVGL-CG-0339 Sec. 12
